July 7: Demand for active and intelligent packaging in the US will reach US$1.9 billion in 2013, fuelled by the development of new generations of products and more cost-competitive prices, according to a 261-page report from Reportlinker.com.
The $3,760 report says that growth in intelligent packaging will be driven by time-temperature indicators (TTIs) and other smart packaging systems such as those using less-costly labels that change colour.
There appears to be scant mention of metal packaging in the report.
