Dutch coatings and chemicals giant AkzoNobel yesterday rejected a €21 billion (US$22bn) bid from US rival PPG Industries. Both are specialist suppliers of packaging coatings and inks to the canmaking industry. Dulux is one of AkzoNobel’s better known consumer brands.
