Manufacture of stylish lightweight aluminium bottles at much higher speeds is expected to be possible with a newly-developed necking and shaping machine.
The rotary machine from Germany’s Mall+Herlan – due to be launched next month – will enable canmakers to produce a range of bottle styles at up to 3,000 per minute, more than ten times as fast as current production lines.
