“Angelus stronger within the Barry-Wehmiller group”

December 5: Bob Chapman, chief executive of fast-growing packaging equipment manufacturer Barry-Wehmiller (B-W), has spoken for the first time since the company acquired the leading can seaming machinery specialist Angelus in August.
Angelus, with an estimated installed base of 14,000 seamers at food and drinks canners worldwide, was acquired for $84 million to be merged with St Louis-based B-W subsidiary Pneumatic Scale.
Combined, the PneumaticScaleAngelus division, based in Cuyahoga Falls, has about 80 percent of the seaming machine business with sales of $130 million.
