June 11: Controversial artwork is set to cause a stir in September when it appears on cans used to package condoms.
Australian company Legends Rubbers has used tinplate cans to package condoms since 1999, with each limited-edition series featuring different illustrations.
Now it’s the turn of Australian artist Hazel Dooney to contribute artwork for the tins. Dooney’s work is said to focus on sex and sexuality, and in 2007 one of her pieces was censored at a Melbourne exhibition.
Daniel Moeschinger, founder of Legends Rubbers, said: “[The artwork] is skimming on the edge; it’s pushing the boundaries of what we do.
