Toyo Seikan’s general manager of international operations has revealed how special it was for the Japanese canmaking giant to win the Can of the Year Award last week.

Six months after some of its beverage can factories were seriously damaged by the earthquake and tsunami, Katsumi Sembon (pictured right with colleague Ludovic Touitou) said that the Can of the Year Award, for the latest version of its PET-coated TULC can, would give the company “even more strength to go on reconstructing”.
