Ball Corporation has bought the remaining share of a joint-venture beverage canmaking plant that it operates at Qingdao in north east China. The move means that Colorado-based Ball now wholly owns all of its five two-piece beverage can operations in the country, which is experiencing strong growth in demand for canned drinks.
Ball, which has owned 40 percent of the plant since 1993, is constructing a new facility with two D&I beverage lines nearby to replace it and will be relocating the current line to another Ball plant in China.
