Ball completes Metal Container plant acquisitions

October 5: Ball Corporation has completed the acquisition of four canmaking plants from Anheuser-Busch InBev.

The three can body plants at Rome, Georgia; Columbus, Ohio; and Ft Atkinson, Wisconsin, and the end-making plant at Gainesville, Florida were part of the Metal Container Corporation (MCC) operations acquired when InBev bought Anheuser-Busch in 2008. The four plants produce annually about 10 billion aluminium cans and 10 billion ends.
