Ball opens second canmaking line in Serbia

Ball’s second beverage canmaking line near Belgrade in Serbia was opened today by the country’s environmental minister Oliver Dulic, economic minister Nebojsa Ciric, along with Ball’s chief executive John Hayes and Ball Packaging Europe’s president Gerrit Heske.

The €35 million (US$48m) line doubles capacity at the Zemun plant – first opened in 2005 and still the only plant of its kind in the Balkans – to more than 1.5 billion aluminium cans a year.
