April 29: Ball Packaging Europe has joined forces with a leading Indian packaging company to advance its plans to produce beverage cans for customers on the sub-continent.
It has formed a partnership with New Delhi-based Scan Holdings which will have responsibility for the sales and marketing at Ball Packaging India.
To provide domestic supplies, construction of a beverage can plant started in April at Aurangabad, in Maharashtra state, some 300km west of Mumbai with a target for commissioning in 2009.
