August 15: US-based Ball Corporation is investing in new beverage canmaking capacity in Brazil to meet growing domestic demand for canned drinks, which is growing at 11 percent a year.
Besides adding capacity to its existing facility at Jacarei, in São Paulo state, Ball plans to start construction of a new plant in Rio de Janeiro state before the end of September.
