Baosteel plans to move into Vietnam

Baosteel Packaging Co, a division of China’s steelmaker Baosteel, is planning to establish a beverage can plant in Vietnam, its first venture outside China. Feasibility studies are being carried out, say officials of the company based in Shanghai.

The Vietnam factory is expected be located in the Singapore Industrial Park, near the capital, Hanoi.

News of the project follows the recent start up of Baosteel’s fifth plant in China at Wuhan where it started making aluminium cans for the first time in February.
