October 19: Shipments of cans to the beer industry in the US were up 3 percent in the third quarter, according to figures from the Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI).
With 9.2 billion beverage cans delivered by the canmakers, it provided a lift as cans for soft drinks showed a further decline in volume.
