February 24: An investment loss of more than $1.5 billion pushed world leading aluminium canstock manufacturer Novelis well into the red for its third quarter results.
Although there were declines in most of its segments, Atlanta-based Novelis said that its beverage can market was “relatively stable”. It was cutting costs, including reducing its workforce by 10 percent.
