BPA not a threat in canned soft drinks say health experts

March 9: Health officials in Canada have said that canned soft drinks don’t pose a threat to consumers because of Bisphenol-A (BPA).

The announcement comes as a law has been passed in a county on Long Island, New York state, that attempts to ban products sold containing BPA. Industry experts are concerned that the passing of a law in what is an influential region could lead to “copy cat” laws elsewhere in the US.
