March 19: Brazil’s leading three-piece canmaker Brasilata is finalising feasibility studies for its fourth canmaking plant in the country, to be based in the north-eastern state of Recife.
The company recently launched a new closure design for food pails and has become the exclusive agent in Brazil to sell five-litre beer kegs made by Huber Packaging Group in Germany.
The new facility in Recife would have two lines to make 3.6 litre and 18 litre general line cans for customers such as AkzoNobel and BASF, company president Antonio Teixeira (pictured) said.
