March 3: Higher average incomes and new packaging formats are driving demand for aluminium beverage cans in Brazil, where consumption increased by 1 billion cans last year.
According to Abralatas, the Brazilian association of aluminium beverage canmakers, shipments in 2008 reached 13.3 billion cans, up 8.5 percent year-on-year.
