June 8: The drink in the can doesn’t have the punch of a Bud, but water from Anheuser-Busch could be a life saver.
As the hurricane season starts in the states around the Gulf of Mexico, the brewer has been preparing by shipping canned water – as it does every year – to local Anheuser-Busch wholesalers in Florida.
Using aluminium 12oz cans made by AB-subsidiary Metal Container Corporation’s plant at Rome, Georgia, plant and filled at A-B’s nearby Cartersville brewery, the water is also being warehoused at the Jacksonville and the Houston breweries. If needed, the water will be shipped to an area in need and distributed by the American Red Cross and other relief agencies.
