February 5: Can sales at North American general line packaging manufacturer BWAY Holding Co were up 5.3 percent in its first fiscal quarter ended on 28 December. Chief executive Ken Roessler (left) says the company is well positioned for a market rebound.
Driven by the pass-through of higher raw material prices, sales in the company’s canmaking division reached US$130.9m, with profit up 9.5 percent to $11.5m, despite a weak economy which lowered volumes by an average of 12 percent.
