October 13: Leading canmaking firm Ball Corporation has agreed to sell its plastics pail factory and business in Newnan, Georgia to BWAY Corporation.
BWAY is paying about US$32 million for the plant, which was acquired by Ball in 2006 as part of US Can Corporation. It produces injection-moulded plastic pails and drums for products such as building materials and pool chemicals and employs about 110 people.
