Can marketing Cocaine be fun?

May 5: A while back, James Kirby – co-founder of a company marketing an energy drink called Cocaine – explained to a reporter why he sold his interest in a software company and got into the energy drink business.
“I thought it would be fun,” Kirby said, “to create a controversial product and watch the politicians and people get their panties in a knot.”
Judging by the past month’s action, Kirby certainly got his wish. Now he’s got the US Food and Drug Administration as well as officials in three states creating havoc for Cocaine, launched six months ago as one of the most caffeinated energy drinks on the market.
