Can volumes slip at Impress

May 18: Pre-buying of cans at the end of 2008, in advance of anticipated higher prices, may have contributed to a decline in sales for the first quarter for Impress Holdings, compared with the same period a year earlier.
Chief financial officer John Geake told The Canmaker that first quarter sales were down 3 percent but with can prices rising from the beginning of the year the volume decline was greater than that.
