Eviosys swept the board at the UK Packaging Awards (UKPA), picking up both prizes given for metal packaging.
The Swiss-based canmaker won awards in the Metal Pack High Volume Food and Beverage category and the Decorative and General Line category.
The former was awarded for the Ecopeel three-piece cans that feature an aluminium peelable foil end that’s sealed directly onto the can body without a double-seam. And the latter was given for Eviosys’ candle can with a hot stamp foil that was made for Celestia.
Ardagh Metal Packaging’s (AMP) aluminium beverage cans for Greene King craft beers were highly commended in the High Volume and Beverage category. Roberts Metal Packaging was similarly recognised in the Decorative and General Line section.
The UKPA had praised Ecopeel’s “revolutionary heat seal”, while the Celestia tin was noted for its “unique capability to hot stamp foils directly onto metal packaging” and the “micro perforations for illumination”.
Awards were handed out at the Grosvenor Hotel in London. The annual event is held to celebrate achievements and creativity in the UK packaging industry and is attended by packaging professionals from across the UK packaging sector.
The canmaking award categories were sponsored by the UK’s canmaking industry group, the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association (MPMA).
