Employees at Rexam collected more than 400,000 used beverage cans weighing 6.5 tonnes as part of the canmaking firm’s Community Can Challenge.
Groups from Rexam’s 12 beverage can plants in Europe were competing for a share of a €10,000 prize to give to their chosen charity.
The cans were collected over a 10-week period and were sold to also help towards an additional £5,000 for charitable causes.
