October 2: Canmaking firms were amongst the prize winners at Starpack 2009 awards ceremony in Birmingham, UK, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year.
Crown Speciality Packaging won a Gold award in the Drinks Design Category for its perforated and embossed tin containing a Jack Daniels whiskey bottle (pictured).
The body side-wall features 9,000 perforations running from top to bottom and was described by the judges as “a technically excellent design featuring a new perforation process giving the consumer a glimpse of the bottle inside”.
