Canned foods rise to the economic challenge

March 26: Consumers in the UK have been switching to canned foods and home cooking as the economy tightens.
Sales of canned foods in the UK grew by 10 percent in the year to the end of February, reaching almost £2 billion (US$2.7bn), according to researchers TNS.
And the rate of growth is increasing. In the three months to the end of February sales were up by 14.5 percent.
