May 27: As summer gets into full swing, revellers will be able to enjoy craft beer Fat Tire during outdoor trips and festivals when it is introduced in aluminium cans for the first time – a move inspired by the portability and environmental benefits of cans made by Ball Corporation.
New Belgium Brewing, based in Fort Collins, Colorado, will next month fill a short run of its beer brand in cans.
“Introducing cans was a natural choice given that they are outdoor-friendly, light for transport, and readily recyclable,” said company spokesman Bryan Simpson. “In addition to the lighter carbon footprint, Fat Tire can now travel to places where glass is not an option.”
