November 17: Beverage cans with labels that change from one colour to another with variations in temperature are being offered by Ball Packaging Europe (BPE).
Until now, the only possible change in colour was from white to blue – such as with the cans for Coors Light, showing that the beer was correctly chilled – but commercial thermochromic ink technology has advanced to the level where the colours can be specified to order, along with the specific temperatures.
