November 9: Novelis, the world’s largest supplier of aluminium canstock, turned round its second quarter results to the end of September with profits after tax of $195 million.
This was 35 percent up on the first quarter, and compares with a loss of $104m in the same period of 2008.
Shipments of all aluminium products were up seven percent quarter to quarter to 693,000 tonnes.
