China’s Cofco to open its sixth canmaking plant

December 15: One of China’s leading canmakers starts construction of its sixth plant in January.
China National Cereals, Oil & Foodstuffs Import & Export Corp (Cofco), the country’s largest food trader which also makes its own cans, plans to begin operations at the new facility – thought to be a dedicated metal decorating operation – in March or April. The order for printing and varnishing equipment was won by UK-based Crabtree of Gateshead.
