April 29: Drinks canners in Iran will have a choice of domestic suppliers next year when a second beverage can plant is expected to start up.
A leading Iranian manufacturer of three-piece cans for drinks and food products says he is joining forces with a European drinks can producer to build the plant.
With a target to make cans in 2009, it would become Iran’s second beverage can line after Saudi Arabian bottler Aujan Industries completes a canmaking plant later this year adjacent to its juice canning plant near Tehran.
