September 24: A UK government-supported development project between Coca-Cola and canmakers has reduced the weight of a 33cl aluminium can by five percent.
Coca-Cola has estimated that it will save 78,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions across Europe a year. In 2009, more than 15 billion cans will be produced using the new design.
