December 18: CPMC, the packaging unit of China’s largest food manufacturer and trader China National Cereals, Oils & Foodstuffs Import and Export Corp (COFCO), has opened a canmaking plant in southern China for general line and decorative containers, its first in the sector.
It is the canmaker’s eighth plant to be opened in China. Last December it opened a factory at its new headquarters at Hangzhou.
Xue Guoping, vice president of COFCO, and Zhang Xin, directing general manager of CPMC, attended the opening ceremony of CPMC (Shenzhen) Co in Baoshan on 5 December.
