July 14: Coors beer cans with labels that change colour when the drink is cooled were recognised amongst a number of Gold prizes at the biennial PAC Leadership Awards, a national packaging competition in Canada.
Molson Canada won three gold awards for a range of its packaging that provided “Exceptional technical reproduction and innovative levels for both graphics and structure”, “Robust brand identity and package integrity”, “Outstanding sustainable packaging leadership in extended producer responsibility,” and “Globally recognized closed loop systems”.
The aluminium beer cans in 12oz and 16oz sizes were made for Molson Canada by Crown Beverage Packaging North America using thermochromic inks of a type first introduced in 2005.
