February 2: Crown Holdings lost share in the North American beverage can market last year despite overall shipments in the industry growing by 2.3 percent.
Commenting during a conference call after its results for 2006 were announced, chief executive John Conway was upbeat even though admitting there had been volume loss in North American beverage cans, and associated share loss, indicating that it had been holding out for higher can prices in the wake of increased aluminium costs.
