August 24: Craft beer fans in the north east US are first to enjoy a larger 22oz aluminium bottle developed by Exal Corporation.
16 Mile Brewing Company has been using only aluminium bottles and kegs for its beers, with the 18oz size so far the biggest available. The new bottle is 66mm diameter, rather than 59mm, and is made on a line that allows a maxium height of 330mm.
The brewer in Georgetown, Delaware, prefers aluminium bottles to glass because it says they reduce costs.
