January 4: Crown Holdings has begun discussions over plans to build a 95 million euro (US$140m) beverage canmaking plant in Slovakia, according to local press reports.
The can manufacturer held its first meeting with Slovakian government investment agency Sario in December, with a view to constructing a 720m can capacity plant.
It would be Crown’s first beverage canmaking facility in eastern Europe.
