Crown starts expanding bevcans in Mexico

Crown Holdings, which last week completed the acquisition of Empaque, Heineken’s canmaking and packaging arm in Mexico, is planning to expand its beverage can capacity there.

It is building a second canmaking plant at Monterrey in the north east state of Nuevo Leon, adjacent to its current facility there. Crown didn’t says how much its was investing in the plant, but estimates are that it would be about US$75m.
