Crown to close two canmaking plants in Canada

November 13: More canmaking capacity alignment is being planned in North America.

Yesterday Crown Holdings said that it would be closing plants in Canada in the first quarter of 2009: its beverage can plant at Montreal and a food can plant at Dorval.

The Montreal beverage can plant makes both 12oz and 16oz aluminium drinks cans on one production line with a capacity of 800m.
