September 4: Canmaking’s world leader Crown has confirmed that it is planning a beverage can plant in Slovakia – its first in Eastern Europe – with an expected start up in the fourth quarter of 2009.
The plant will be constructed at Kechnec in eastern Slovakia with one production line having capacity to make 750 million cans a year. It will be designed for the addition of further production lines, as future market needs require.
