Tooling manufacturer Danobat said its new IRDc internal grinding machine for worn punches and dies has a robotic arm for automatic loading.
The modular machine offers flexibility and a “fast” return on investment, according to Mikel Oguiza of the company, speaking to The Canmaker at Metpack in Essen, Germany.
He said canmakers could add the robotic section, saving the time and costs of manual loading. “To improve the value for our customers, we decided to put a robot [in a modular unit], so the robot can automatically load the machine.”
The machine can work “without any intervention” between shifts to keep canmaking production lines running with production-ready punches and dies.
