October 31: Rising demand for a wider range of beverage can sizes in North America has caused Ball to further reduce its 12oz beverage can capacity, with the closure of two canmaking plants in Kansas City, Missouri, and Guayama, Puerto Rico.
“The closure of these facilities will further reduce 12oz can capacity in our metal beverage packaging manufacturing system, more efficiently allocate production and consolidate specialty can production into facilities better located to serve our customer base,” said executive vice president and chief operating officer John Hayes.
