Demand in cans for food continues to boom in US

Demand for food cans continues to boom in the US with the double-digit increase in the three months to the end of September only slightly down on the previous quarter.

According to the latest figures from Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI) shipments of food and general line cans in the US were just over 10 billion units in the third quarter (Q3), rising by 13.2 per cent compared with the same period in 2019. In the second quarter, demand grew by 13.5 per cent compared with the same period last year.
