Dog owners have a smaller carbon pawprint

November 25: Food canner Butcher’s Pet Care has found that those who own dogs have a smaller carbon “pawprint” than those who don’t.

The UK-based dog food manufacturer commissioned a nationwide study which found that dog-owning families on average use 5.4 percent less carbon per person than equivalent non-dog owning families.

The study polled more than 1,500 dog and non-dog owning families and questioned them about lifestyle choices, energy consumption, and travel and transport habits.
