PPP plans to raise output of crown closures to 4.5 billion in 2011 following the installation of Sacmi equipment. The company’s new Low Gauge Crown (below) features an embossed ring to compensate for the thinner double-reduced tinplate by Rasselstein

Among the developments discussed at The Canmaker Summit in November 2010 were the downgauged crown corks being used on bottles in Peru by brewer SABMiller’s subsidiary Unión de Cervecerías Peruanas Backus & Johnston.
