March 10: Drinks cans using an enhanced printing process that reproduces high-quality images have been used for the first time on a limited-edition run of sports sodas for the Seattle Seahawks football team.
The technology has been developed by Ball Corporation and uses six process colours rather than the usual four that enables high-resolution images of fruit, vegetables, water, ice and people to be printed at high production speeds. It is available for all 18 of Ball’s beverage can sizes and is compatible with all filling processes including retorting.
