Drinks market launch for Impress

October 13: Impress enters the functional drinks packaging market in Europe with the launch next week of a resealable aluminium bottle for the L’eau rouge brand. It is also the canmaking firm’s first drinks can.

It will be revealed at the SIAL food show in Paris, and is the first commercial outcome of an alliance between Impress and Japan’s Daiwa Can that was signed just over a year ago in 2009.

Dutch-based Impress, which is in the process of being acquired by the Ardagh glass group, has previously specialised in cans for foods, paints and industrial products, supplied from a number of global operations.
