Easy-open end plant planned for India

September 25: An easy-open end plant is being planned for construction in southern India.

International Canends Pvt Ltd (ICEPL) wants to invest Rs 58 crore (US$12 million) in the factory in Mysore, where it is based.

It intends, according to local reports, to raise most of this through private equity or debt financing.

ICEPL has acquired land for the plant, which is expected to have a capacity of 745 million ends a year in 300 and 307 full-aperture styles and Quarter Club ends, mostly for export.
