February 2: A Canadian mineral water producer is first to launch a drink in an aluminium bottle design that is expected to revolutionise the way the leading drinks firms market their products.
Toronto-based Eaux Vive is using the latest version of Coil-to-Can (C2C) bottles made by Exal Corporation for its Eska brand.
Under development for a number of years, C2C uses manufacturing techniques originally evolved for DWI beverage cans. It enables the bottle to be much lighter than impact-extruded aluminium versions but also features a stylish long neck.
