Global energy drink consumption is expected to grow by more than a third in the next four years, and that’s good news for canmaking companies, because four of every five of the packaged drinks comes in a can.

According to food and drinks consultancy Zenith International, the energy drink market volume will increase by 1.7 billion litres, reaching 6.5 billion litres in 2016. That means an estimated additional five billion cans will be needed.
